Review of The Taqwacores (2010) by Skyler I — 15 Jul 2011
The Taqwacores, based on the fantastic novel of the same name by author Michael Muhammad Knight, has only one flaw: it's very streamlined, and may confuse audiences that aren't familiar with the novel.
And that's it. Apart from that one tiny little flaw, the Taqwacores manages to be every bit as emotionally deep and thought provoking as the book. It's well acted, directed and Muhammad Knight has written a screenplay that translates well on screen.
This is one of my new, very favorite films.
