Review of The Tao of Steve (2000) by Lucas Y — 06 Nov 2008
After looking at this on the DVD rack at the video for several years and people telling me that Tao of Steve is somewhat of a cult classic, I finally watched it... and liked it.
I can't remember a whole lot of Donal Logue's work, but he was a pretty decent lead in this and carries the movie well. His smugness and charm is very believable. The characters and situations are all very believable. The story is somewhat predictable in a way, but you kind of root for it.
I loved the whole 3 Steve's bit... being a big Steve McQueen fan. Steve McQueen was the epitome of cool.
It bothers me that good romantic comedies like this get so overlooked by garbage like Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Wedding Crashers & even shit like Superbad.
