Review of The Tall T (1957) by Daniel W — 04 Jan 2009
Decent, small-time rancher Randolph Scott loses his horse in a bet and hitches a ride with his stagecoach driving buddy and a couple of newlyweds. Unfortunately, at the next station waits outlaws Richard Boone, and two kill-crazy companions who've shot the elderly station agent and a small boy, and tossed their bodies down a well.
One of the best of the deceptively simple 50's westerns Scott made with director Budd Boetticher. The terse exchanges between Scott and Boone are a pleasure to watch.
