Review of The Talk of the Town (1942) by Sarah G — 15 Feb 2011
It was interesting to see Cary Grant in a a darker role than he's usually seen in. Also, good to see a familiar face, Ronald Colman [Mr. Skeffington, Now Voyager, Random Harvest].
While the plot and the way it was executed was confusing in points, the main message of the film was keenly felt: that every person deserves a fair verdict/trial, with all the facts considered before reaching a decision; also, that when the law/govt. is wrongfully convicting a man, one must stand up and do the right thing.
