Review of The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) by Dave G — 11 Jul 2009
This movie makes me want to visit Italy. The cast is talented and everything appears to be accurate to the period, the late 1950s. Tom Ripley, as played by Matt Damon, is still somewhat of an enigma in the end.
But that's not a problem because what you have is a character that doesn't fit any particular psychosis. He's definitely messed up but in his own unique way. It's more true to life that way.
