Review of The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) by Asif H — 07 Jul 2012
I have to be honest as I am not a fan of slow paced movie and thus this was no exception despite the critical and commercial success of the movie. Anther thing that drawed me to this movie was clean cut Matt Damon playing a villainous character.
Shockingly, this was the first ever Jude Law film I have ever seen, have to say do not see anything special about him. Gwneth Paltrew was annoying as she normally is. Actually, I probably only seen her in a few movies, mainly the Ironman movies.
Matt Damon was good, still preferred him as the kick ass spy with amnesia in the Borne movie, then again who doesn`t. Do not get me wrong, the story is well told but I felt it was missing something. The backdrop of Italy produced stunning visuals, did a better job then The Jersey Shore did when they filmed an entire season in Italy.
Sadly,. would prefer to see the Situation and Snooki then Jude Law and Gwneth Paltrew.
