Review of The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) by Alec B — 27 Jul 2014
The film is always on the verge of becoming your typical art-house psycho-sexual thriller, complete with exotic European locals, sexy sad rich people, homosexuals, opulence, obvious symbolism with mirrors, psychopathy, and, of course, murder.
The film is elevated by Damon's captivating performance and, despite the silliness, I enjoy the twisty plot.
