Review of The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) by Brandon W — 18 Dec 2014
Man was this an amazing movie. The plot is really great, and it got me through phrases of uncomfortable, worried, scared, and then to just plain shocked. Matt Damon was wonderful in this and makes me really believe of how complicated he makes his character.
Ripley is an amazing character that would make viewers think about him for days. It's very smart, it's very interesting, and is very well-written. There's never a moment was dumb, or just really obvious.
The movie is very well tight in itself that was making me wonder about what's going to happen next. I wouldn't be surprise if some viewers try to analyze Ripley because he's very smart and is really complicated to the point of not knowing if he's telling the truth, or just lying.
The Talented Mr. Ripley is a masterpiece that may be something David Fincher would make, which he kind of did when he made Gone Girl that may perhaps had some influence from this.
