Review of The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) by Terra W — 17 Feb 2009
Very atmospheric and involving. Great acting and an interesting story. I wish there were more of an explanation of Matt Damon's character. I wish he was more flushed out as a character in that his motives were too simple and he didn't really react to the things he was doing in regards to his emotions.
If it were meant to be that Damon's character lacked emotions because he's psycho.....then I think the film lacks because of it. Jude Law was great and Gwyneth Paltrow was good as was Phillip Seymour Haufman.
Overall -- A good movie.
