Review of The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) by Daisy M — 31 Jul 2010
The talented Mr. Ripley featured a tremendous cast, such as Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law,and Cate Blanchett. It was an adaptation of a novel, filmed in a good thriller. Through the viewpoint of the character, Mr Ripley, played by Damon, we saw his journey as a psychopath who believed he found happiness by taking someone else identity and live his lifestyle.
The movie had some breathtaking photography shot on location in Italy, a fascinating jazz score, some suspense,a super script, and a top direction by the late Anthony Minghella. However, at times, the movie seemed slow, and the ending, however, was a bit disappointing, it was up to the audience now to imagine what might happen to Tom Ripley in the end.
