Review of The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) by Howie V — 15 Jan 2011
The Dream Team: Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Cate Blanchette, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. I think these bastards just ruined Europe for me: Sick. Twisted. Jerry Springer. Glorified trailer trash. Are you people insane? ...BUT I COULDN'T STOP WATCHING. Forget Will Hunting and Jason Bour-ing. "Tom Ripley" is Matt Damon at his absolute best. This is acting. This is talent. You're just sitting there, watching, waiting for the other shoe to drop. And JAZZ! "Americano! Americano! Americano!" No, I'm not going to spoil it. See this movie. Two Thumbs up!
"I don't know why they say this country is so civilized? It's not. It's...primitive." - Dickie Greenleaf.
