Review of The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) by Valeria C — 31 Mar 2009
Quite an odd film, Matt Damon plays a man who seems very normal, verging on "boring", but has a talent for lying and deception. When he decides to use his skills to live two lives, his own and that of his wealthy friend, he finds himself deep within a web of lies and deceit.
The film starts off very slowly; building up all of the characters and slowly showing Ripley's normalness backfire on him, before everything goes wrong. Was very slow starting, but the moment when everything backflips on itself is tense and dramatic.
