Review of The Tale of Despereaux (2008) by Caylin L — 07 Aug 2010
I don't know why it got a low rating except for the fact that it does seem like the plot is a mixture of several familiar story lines.
I remember when my classmates & I were watching, I remembered Professor Ratigan when Botticelli appeared, however he looked a lot like Anton Ego of Ratatouille... and Anton isn't a rat.
I was particularly struck by the narrator's line, "Ok, remember when we said that grief was the strongest thing a person could feel? Well, it isn't. It's forgiveness because a single act of forgiveness can change everything." I guess that's mainly the reason why I'm giving the movie a high rating, honestly. But I'm not saying that I hate the movie! I like it, and the humor that goes along with it.
