The Tale is a tough watch, and because of Laura Dern's outstanding performance its something you want to stick by with, but its rather bleak story will leave you a bit cold, making it pretty much have a feel of a real-life documentary, which would have offered more resolutions than a narrative structure acted out by professionals.
Its a weird complaint on my part as a reviewer, but you have to judge the work as you experience it.
