There once was a time -- the 1970s --when American films pulsated with life: believable, realistic characters; locations teeming with myriad ethnicities; meticulous set detailing; all of which brought the viewer into the world of the film.
Pelham is a well-wrought example of the intelligent, stimulating and thoroughly entertaining level that American cinema achieved during this period.
