Review of The Sword in the Stone (1963) by Sarah B — 19 Oct 2008
An entertaining, light hearted romp full of magic and sorcery the Sword and the Stone succeeds at telling the story of King Arthur on a simple and easy going level. The film however lacks the greatness found in so many of the other Disney classics as the music is hardly memorable, the plot is a little too trivial at times and lacks a definite direction.
It is quite clear that with a bigger budget and a clearer vision The Sword in the Stone would have been up there as one of the greats.
