Review of The Switch (2010) by Jason K — 25 Apr 2011
Enjoyable performances in this amusing entry to the Predictable Rom Com category. Jason Bateman is good, as always, and Jennifer Aniston is everything you've come to expect from her (with bonus botox!) Add just a sprinkle of text book Jeff Goldblum and you're golden. I even liked Juliette Lewis as the raspy friend.
My only true complaint here is the wrap up. We all know how the film will finish up, of course - the target audience of this genre would never tolerate anything less than the two leads getting together. But this film goes a long way to establishing mood, only to unsatisfyingly crash into its happy ending.
Yes, folks, I'm saying this particular rom com needs to be 20 minutes LONGER.
