2: I'm happy Jason Bateman gets to star, but I do wish he could have managed a better co-star than Aniston. The story is fairly ridiculous and he isn't given nearly as much good material to work with as I had hoped for.

It has its original moments, but in the end it ends up like just about every other romantic comedy out there, which is to say highly formulaic and mildly entertaining. I suppose the topics under discussion here could provide one with rather more grist for a philosophical consideration of what exactly makes a family.
