Review of The Sweetest Thing (2002) by Olivia L — 06 Jan 2009
The thing I have about romantic comedies is that they have to be believable...and this one didn't let me down! The plot of the movie was a little...far-fetched, but, who knows? Cameron Diaz plays a woman who is wooing guys in the wrong way.
..and, she notices it - and, they make a point to state this at the start of the movie. After a chance meeting in a bar with this guy - she starts to realize how she's been acting...and, it evolves.
..i'd like to say deeper, but...not really. There's only so much depth you can get with a storyline like this. Acting was alright and believable - but, not up to snuff given what the actresses have done in other movies.
Parts were funny - and, dull as well. The parts that were funny stood out however - especially the whole "You're too big" scene in the restaurant (Don't wanna give that away :D) Overall a A- movie from A+ stars.
