Review of The Sweet Hereafter (1997) by Bridge S — 27 Jul 2007
Atom Egoyan is at his best with this zany look at small town life! After a wacky schoolbus driver accidently veers off the road and drowns a bunch of children, Mitchell, a big city lawyer must drag himself away from his drug addicted daughter, and solve the mystery.
With a hilarious perfomance by Sarah Polley as the lone paraplegic survivor who is continually molested by her father, your belly will ache after seeing this family friendly jaunt. Make sure and bring your kids to this one, cause their going to love the heartwarming twist that befalls Mitchel's daughter: she has AIDS!
