Review of The Sweet Hereafter (1997) by Eric R — 12 Apr 2008
Often we hear that a 'movie stayed with us' and it so many cases, I don't think it's true. In this case, Atom Egoyan has crafted a memorable drama about loss, family, and community. It works on so many levels, and the narrative is unlike most films.
You may recognize some actors, you won't know some, but here everyone is perfect. One of the great films of the 1990s, but not that well-known. It is a serious work, mature themes, but I highly recommend it to everyone.
