Review of The Sweet Hereafter (1997) by Dqniel K — 21 Jun 2008
This movie is not for everyone, but it features beautiful images, a haunting score and, bar none, the best performance of Ian Holm's career.
It has an early appearance by Sarah Polley, who went on to appear in the recent Dawn of the Dead and Go.
Again, it's pacing and subject matter may turn some people off, but for me it's Atom Egoyan's masterpiece and one of my top two or three movies ever.
