Review of The Sweet Hereafter (1997) by Mike T — 05 Jul 2009

I was looking forward to watching this for a long time and you know what....I was bored to f*($%g tears!! I struggled to get through the first hour of it and after that, I just didn't care how it ended anymore and turned the tv off.

Perhaps my very high expectations clouded everything. I'm not saying its terrible, its very different from most movies, as it has such a realistic, raw quality to it which in itself makes it great.

The story was also great as well and is compelling. It almost felt like it was reailty and like a camera was following real people around and not actors. My issue is that I was not drawn in right away and although its an incredible movie because of how it was filmed, I just didn't like it.
