What surprised me the most is the terrible reviews by the pro reviewers! Movie is pretty funny. Matthau is hilarious, Williams pretty good, and all the supporting cast is funny too. Maybe just the mood of the country when it first debuted? But I just saw in 2015 and seemed like there were quite a few zingers, and the comedy was much funnier to me than most comedies of today.
