Review from adult with no much of interest in Mario games: great movie to go with kids. Great for both kids and adults. We liked jokes, animation, daughter also liked games’ references. They added gameplay elements from Mario games carefully. Nothing deep or unexpected in plot, but it’s kinda standard plot for family movie.

Don’t believe critics! This is a great family movie, for people who love Mario universe and for ones who don’t care much about Nintendo games. It entertains, and that only matters. I don’t know why critics score is so low, probably because there is no message etc. It doesn’t mean that the movie is bad, it just means that so called professional reviewers are completely detached from the real people, who just want a good movie.
