This move felt like a beautiful love letter to Mario fans. The amount of references it has is outstanding, the soundtrack is just beautiful and it sticks to its roots, unlike many other movies that rather go for popular horrible rap or pop songs and things like that, no. The Mario movie is beautifully and almost fully orchestrated with songs and sounds you'll be recognizing all over as well as new ones. The animation is also amazing and super fluid, the amount of characters is outstanding, and the voices sound great. At first I was hesitant about Chris Pratt as Mario but after watching the movie I'm glad to say he did an amazing job, but my favorite voice has to be Bowser, Jack Black did an outstanding job and he really gave life to the character. The story is always surprisingly well thought, it's already hard enough to translate years and years of Mario games into a single movie but the really outdone themselves. Not say that the story is overly emotional but that's a god thing. It feels like a nice change of pace from modern cinema with it's quick pace and charming story.

I could talk about this movie all day but I got some Mario games to play after watching it. It deserves a 10/10.
