This is a beautiful film that tells some very Chinese stories using that most un-Chinese of devices, magic realism. If one doesn't mind scratching one's head and wondering what the hell is going on every fifteen minutes, "Sun Also Rises" is a great flick.
Jaycee Chan is surprisingly good, and Joan Chen is smoking.
