Review of The Sum of Us (1994) by Katie M — 24 Sep 2007
This film started out a little awkwardly - I think it had some problems transitioning from play to screen, I could tell in a matter of seconds that it was based on a play - but once it got settled it was a really sweet and underplayed story about love and family, and I loved it.
The guy playing Russell Crowe's love interest was awkward and wooden, which didn't work for me, but Russell and Jack Thompson were both beyond outstanding, which made up for it. It's sad and poignant and funny, really good stuff.
