Review of The Sum of All Fears (2002) by Sanity Assassin ! — 27 Apr 2008
Best portrayal of tom clancy's jack ryan played here by ben affleck and supported by a stellar cast who do their job unanimously well. the high point of the acting foray being the scenes in air force one when the president is surrounded by his aids.
now those are the old-skool elite actors! most of the film was actually shot in the united states but a small part was shot in the kremlin (a place where a film-making crew has never been allowed to shoot before).
directed by phil alden robinson with a completely adept cinematographer backing him up the result is indeed sweet. manipulation of sound and colour in the filming are used to prime effect. clever, dramatic and scary.
a well told story.
