Review of The Sum of All Fears (2002) by Tania L — 14 Jul 2009
Probably one of the best actioners I have seen in a long time, due mostly to the incredible daring of the plot developements. There are moments of genuine threat that everything will go wrong, the hero(s) will die, the world will end.
The characters are believable, the storyline interesting, the script isnt too cliched and the film as a whole retains some realism. There are no hammy, super-arch-villains to have a huge shoot-out at the end of the film, the spys arent the invincible agents they are in other films.
What is conveyed is the essence of "real" people in an intense situation.
