Review of The Suicide Squad (2021) by Sirswan — 06 Aug 2021

It's really dumb, but sort of fun.

I'm sort of torn, because on one hand I like what they did with some of the characters and the banter between them. I think he did well hitting a good tone for the movie and understanding what works about it. On the other hand, everything is so dumb. They don't even try to ground it in reality and it just makes me not care.

I can look past some things, like a talking shark, but I don't understand why it's so hard for hollywood to do a movie like this, but actually put SOME effort into the logic of everything. They are always so lazy and it just makes me not care.

I don't really want to support movies like this, even though I like some stuff, because it will just open the door for more mindless crap from hollywood in the future and I'd rather they were forced to put more actual thought into their movies.
