Review of The Suicide Shop (2012) by Robert H — 11 Dec 2012
An extremely adorable 3D - 2D animated French musical that deals with death, life, depression, and ADHD. The music is quite catchy at times and I found myself humming the main song of the film on the way home.
The subject matter is a little bit much for children so don't think of this as something you'd take your kids to see. Make sure you check it out yourself first, then make the judgement based on your own and what they can understand and deal with.
Of course, unless your kids are into subtitles, they might not be into this film at all but that doesn't mean parents can't enjoy this fun little film. I know I did.
I was impressed with the 3D as it wasn't the shadow box effect I was expecting but rather gave depth to an otherwise flat 2D image AND allowed for some nice enhancements to the picture.
The ending of the film doesn't quite live up to the first half as it seems a little too optimistic compared to anything previous. That and it just didn't make sense.
