Review of The Sugarland Express (1974) by John P — 25 May 2009
Despite being a bit rough around the edges, and despite the spotty pacing, this is still alternately hilarious and heartbreaking, and is a very entertaining "first" from Spielberg (his first movie was Duel, but this was his first theatrical feature film).
That's... Pretty much it. It's a chase movie, but the four leads have great performances, and the smaller tangential moments actually work better than the main story does at times.
