Review of The Stupids (1996) by Todd S — 23 Apr 2011
I really don't know how to put it any other way except to say this movie was so "stupid" and went downhill so fast that when it hit the bottom (not long into the movie) that it literally bounced off the bottom and headed back up to the point I ended up considering it one of the funnier movies I've seen.
The song "I'm my own grandpa" and the scene in the planetarium alone are worth watching it. I love absurd clean humor so maybe it was just me, but I actually liked this movie. It was so unusual and so comically absurd that I enjoyed it.
I'm sure some wouldn't, but I did and was actually cheering for this goofy family by the end. Makes me chuckle just thinking about their adventure and determination and comic success. I own the movie.
