Review of The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018) by Krissy L — 13 Mar 2018
With a classic movie to follow, the strangers does a poor job of keeping up with the amazing first one. While its sister film was creepy and claustrophobic, prey at night makes you pray for the end. It all starts with a family of four going to visit their aunt and uncle out in a trailer park that's completely out in the middle of nowhere.
While this seems like a good start to the story, none of the characters are likeable. So if one of them was killed off, it made no difference to me. Another problem for me was they directly ripped off other horror films, and they did it so obviously, that your mind flashes back to the movie in question and it kind of took me out of the movie.
I am a huge horror movie fan and I was really disappointed with this installment. In short: faceless cast, faceless plot, faceless movie.
