Review of The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018) by Alexandra S — 20 Mar 2018
Knowingly familiar + forgivingly predictable, this was a fun flick! Look, I don't always need a film to re-invent the wheel, sometimes I just want to sit back in my cozy favorite genre + enjoy the slasher ride.
..this is one of those times. An amusing nod back to the stories I enjoy the most, The Strangers are masked creeps killing + tormenting for the fun of it, no convoluted storyline, unnecessary twists or bullshit motives, just terror for terror's sake.
The flashback soundtrack + sharp cinematography really punctuated this film's strong points. I walked into the theater with zero expectations + walked out entertained. Bonus points for a couple of jumps + succinct storytelling! Fully diggable in my book.
