Review of The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018) by S K — 22 Apr 2018

This movie was different than most movies in the fact that the brother and sister has got the psychology of a person in their situation. I say this because throughout the film they act like a normal horror film character making stupid mistake or not fighting back but most people in that situation would act like that.

The scene that made this film become one of my favorites is the pool scene not because he fought back but because of how and why he fought back because in the scene after he hit the girl chasing after him (he hit due to desperation) you see in the actors facial expression that he didn't expect the girl to be hurt by the club (this make all their actions previously become more understandable) this one facial expression and the moment of contemplation show that he didn't think the strangers were just humans who were as weak as him. This is reinforced by him stabbing the girl and his words towards the male stranger afterwords.

The sister also does the same thing as her brother after shooting the other girl in the police car showing that it was on purpose for the characters to act that way.

Unfortunatly there was some bad parts as well such as the parents being forgettable, the strangers doing some close to impossible things, the undying male stranger at the end and the sequel baiting ending.
