In the right environment this film can be very frightening. When the antagonist has no motive to kill and nice enough to knock on the door before he does, just scares the shit out of me. Being based on a true event adds to the rational fear and I thought the protagonists problem solving seemed very realistic in the situation which a lot of horror movies side step.
