Review of The Strangers (2008) by Kye Kye C — 16 May 2011
This is truely the only movie too ever scare me. It's a slow, loud, and terrifying ride. What makes "The Strangers" scary is well just about everything. The script is solid, the acting great, and everything else including the lighting is striking. The lighting of this film is a character in itself. With parts of the house being very bright and others immediately black makes for some terrifying shots.
There isn't much I can say about this film without giving anything away. It's supremely scary and just a great film. My only complaint is that it isn't long enough, they could have thrown in more scares too make this longer. But most people would have a heart-attack if this film was any longer.
All in all "The Strangers" doesn't bring anything new to the genera but one thing...pure realism! "The Strangers" is an unsettleing, heart pounding home invasion story that is so real you forget that it's a movie and that your not watching the news.
