I remember seeing this film when it was released. It really didn't do anything for me, I understand what a horrible case this is, but I didn't find the film horrifying. It was really more exploitative of the subject.
The camera angles always lingered over them, in a way that they were trying to make the audience jump and feel suspense. I really only found it tedious and felt the film probably should have tried different tactics as I became irritated.
However, others I have talked too found it incredibly disturbing and one of the scariest films they had seen. It really depends on how you feel.
