Review of The Straight Story (1999) by Eli R — 11 Sep 2008
David Lynch diverts the energy he usually spends being disturbing and weird to being wholesome and empathetic, and to great effect. Wonderfully paced with nothing but excellent performances throughout.
All of the Lynch style is there, but with none of the seedy underbelly that seems to be the hallmark of his oeuvre.
