Review of The Straight Story (1999) by Albert P — 02 Jul 2009
This film is fantastic. Disney teaming up with David Lynch sounds so unnatural, but everything works so well here. The grumpy old man could've been just another grumpy stubborn old man, but hes more than that, which owes so much credit to a fantastic performance by Richard Farnsworth.
The supporting cast all do their jobs, but no one holds a candle to him. Thematically and story wise this film is top notch, and I find nothing to complain about at all. The end is magnificent.
