Review of The Straight Story (1999) by Mark J — 19 Jun 2009
Hi.
Having just completed my first review - The Bucket List. It got me thinking about films which have changed me as a person and in particular my views on life, love, etc.
Well this film encapulates all that is good about life, a life dealt a less than perfect hand that is! Basically in life, what everything boils down to, is who we are or where we have come from. Along the departure from our creation things go wrong, and that is whgere this film picks up.
I shall not go into the sotry or plot of this film, as I shall assume that, given this film is 10 years old, you will reference this knowing a little of the story.
But in conclusion, if my life was summarised by a man on a lawnmower in such a touching way as this, heck, my life has been worth while.
If you watch one film in your life which you allow to touch your soul, please, please let it be this one. If this film was on canvas it surely would be priceless.
