Review of The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men (1952) by David B — 11 Jul 2011
Very 1950s version of the Robin Hood story, with Richard Todd as the hero, and a supporting cast including James Robertson Justice (as Little John) and Michael Hordern. It's not up to the standards of the Flynn version, but is fun nevertheless.
Todd is great as usual, and is probably the third best Robin Hood (behind Flynn and Michael Praed). Needs a Clannad soundtrack though.
