Review of The Stool Pigeon (2010) by Ngo M — 02 Sep 2010
Billed as the sequel to Dante Lam's Beast Stalker, comparisons are inevitable and the verdict, Stool Pigeon is no way as good as Beast Stalker. The story of informants is a familiar one and this new film offers no new dimension to it.
Lu Yi and Kwai Lunmei are never convincing as the gangster leader and his girlfriend although Nick Cheung puts in another credible lead performance and Nicholas Tse has improved a lot since Beast Stalker.
Not Dante's best for sure.
