Review of The Sting (1973) by Dylan N — 12 Oct 2009
One of the best films ever made. the film places it's audience into a depression era America perfectly. The art direction, production design, costumes et al are picture perfect creating this great replica of 1936 Chicago.
The cinematography is another example if the outstanding work done in this era of film making. And the performances by Redford and Newman? Has there ever been a better screen duo? Finally the score. Hamlisch tweaked Joplin's music just enough so that you'll find yourself humming "The Entertainer" for days.
Unbelievably great work!
