I saw this film when I was 7-years-old, and a fresh fan of Scott Joplin's ragtime tunes, as well as classic cinema. This film has a few genius aspects: pairing up ragtime music with 1930's film noir; iconic transition edits with artistic title sheets for different segments of the story; one of the most entertaining poker games in cinema; George Roy Hill's flawless directing.
It's hard not to like this one, unless you "don't like old music". Many people are ignorant...
