Review of The Sting (1973) by Adam K — 07 Jul 2009
The first half was near sparkling. The set-up, the characters, all great. The Redford-Newman duo is fantastic stuff to watch all the way through. The scene where they first meet and Newman is hungover is great.
Newman was especially fantastic, can't believe Redford got nominated but Newman didn't. The poker scene is classic, proof of my previous statement and just good clean cinematic fun. Then the con began to get to technical for my personal liking and I lost a bit of interest until the end, which was of course a twist as every con movie has.
Overall pretty entertaining, but not necessarily classic great. Certainly had it's high moments.
