It's a blindfold kickback type of game they call the Kansas City Shuffle. Who knew I'd discover THE song about grifters the same day I saw THE movie about grifters.

It was extremely well-shot and played. Aw hell, I just love it. They pulled off the pre-WWII 1930s look perfectly. The plot takes a shitload of twists and turns, and it ties itself in a knot deliciously at the end.

The music is atmospheric, all classic honky-tonk ragtime tunes from the era, and the writing is brilliant.

It takes its time, but it aint nearly as slow as some other movies from the 70s. It actually holds up rather well to movies now, insofar as a movie can compare to a Michael Bay special effects shitstorm nowadays.

A classic. Watch it.

RIP Newman.
