Review of The Sting (1973) by Lord N — 10 Dec 2009
DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH, DUHDUHDUHDUHDUHDUHDUHDUH DUHDUH. The well known score of The Sting, amazing as it is, is not the best part of the movie. it is everything about it. The score, the acting, the plot, the characters, the screenplay, it all was great.
I really liked Robert Shaw as Doyle Lonnagan. however, the screen chemistry between Robert Redford and Paul Newman was excellent. It clearly transferred over from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (another great movie).
I won't telly you anything about the plot for anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet. the actors really have a knack for making their characters really enjoyable to watch. they were the best part of the movie.
Final Verdict: This movie deserved the Best Picture win in my book. I know a lot of people disagree but I really like it. the characters, the plot, and the overall fun feeling of the movie make this one of the more enjoyable Best Picture winners.
